Summer at Oakwood

Learn more about Oakwood School’s half-day academic camp for current 1st–7th graders with language-based learning differences.
Held on Oakwood’s campus in Annandale, Virginia, this Northern Virginia summer camp provides small-group instruction in reading, writing, and language skills. All classes are led by experienced Oakwood teachers trained in Orton-Gillingham methodologies and skilled in supporting students who learn differently.
Families from Fairfax County, Arlington, Alexandria, and Falls Church choose Summer at Oakwood for its structured, multisensory approach and nurturing environment.
Summer 2026 Dates
Each session is two weeks. Families may enroll in a single session or for the full summer program.
- Session 1: Monday, July 6 - Friday, July 17
- Session 2: Monday, July 20 - Friday, July 31
Camp drop-off is 8:30-8:45 am, and pick-up is at 11:30 am. Morning care is available beginning at 7:30 am for families who need an earlier drop-off time.
Each session costs $1,530.00. If a family enrolls in both sessions, there is a slight discount, bringing the total to $2,754.00. A non-refundable deposit of $275.00 is due upon acceptance into the program.
Registering & Applying for Summer at Oakwood
Oakwood School is also the site of Summer Cove Nova, a weekly camp with activities for rising 6th-9th graders. Summer Cove camps are designed to keep campers active and engaged, encouraging them to think outside the box and problem-solve while socializing and exploring new avenues.
Oakwood School and its employees are not involved in the programming, registration, or hiring associated with Summer Cove.
