Outreach & Literacy

dyslexic student at private school for specific learning differences

For over 50 years Oakwood School has inspired students and families to gain confidence in their learning and access tools and strategies to help themselves advocate in classrooms and workplaces around the country.

We understand the importance of early intervention and the science behind accurate and quality reading instruction.

Our Outreach and Literacy services are designed to support students struggling with reading or writing without requiring enrollment in our school.

Student & Family Support

Each dyslexia screening and/or literacy assessment consists of an initial consultation and review of a child's academic history before the in-person assessment is completed. After the in-person assessment, parents/guardians will review the findings and receive a written report with measurable data and recommendations for the next steps.

These assessments are not a substitute for a full psycho-educational evaluation. A diagnosis will not be given during this process.

Support for Schools & Educators

The following workshops, presentations, or services can be adapted for any audience or number of attendees. Depending on the request, they may be conducted virtually.
