Enrichment Clubs


Oakwood School offers a variety of After-School Enrichment Clubs to meet the active needs of our students. Find out about this semester's clubs below.



ABC SINGERS CHOIR - MONDAYS

ABC Singers Choir students learn to sing using basic sight-reading and to sing 2- and 3-part harmony. Vocal sampling of famous songs from a variety of different genres expand musical abilities and increase historical knowledge of music. the choir also explores creative music with handbells. Opportunities to perform as a group within our community promotes artistic and social confidence.

SCIENCE - TECHNOLOGY - ENGINEERING - ARTS - MATH (STEAM) TUESDAYS

STEAM CLUB (Teams 2-6)
Oakwood's Instructional Technology Resource Teacher guides students to complete Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math challenges with real-world connections. Possible projects include engineering puzzles, robotic mazes, scripting, filming and editing green screen projects, and a variety of building experiments. The STEAM Club helps students strengthen their problem solving, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.

HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST PREP - WEDNESDAYS

This course prepares 8th-grade students to take the High School Placement Test (HSPT), which is required for admission to local Catholic high schools such as Paul VI, Bishop Ireton, and Bishop O’Connell. Students practice types of questions, review vocabulary, and focus on specific skills. Test-taking strategies are taught to enhance performance on the test.
