Meet Our Team

If your child has been diagnosed with dyslexia or another specific learning disability, you already know that the right teacher makes all the difference.
At Oakwood, every classroom teacher is trained in structured literacy and the Orton-Gillingham approach, not as a supplement, but as the foundation of our teaching.
And every person on our staff, from the classroom to the front office, is here because they believe in this community and the students we serve. We work with students in grades 1 through 8 in the DC Metro area who've often struggled in traditional classroom settings. The people you'll meet below didn't end up here by accident. They chose to specialize in students who learn differently.

What I like about Oakwood is that the teachers are very caring and have your best interests at heart.
They are always ready to help you when you need it.
