On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, we held a ceremony to induct the new members of the Color Guard and Student Council Association. In front of the student body, faculty, parents and other family members, these young leaders took their oath of office.

Mr. Robert McIntyre, Executive Director of Oakwood School, opened the ceremony with remarks which reminded us of the importance of our democratic process and the responsibility of leadership. Mr. Lane McIntyre, the Associate Executive Director, recognized the current Color Guard members and inducted the new members. The returning members then presented the new members with a medallion as a reminder of their acceptance of the responsibilities of their position.

The new Student Council Representatives were sworn in next. These students will attend Student Council meetings and report back to their team about SCA events. Each student received a pin from their homeroom teacher.

The officers of SCA were inducted to their offices. Each of them was introduced to the assembly, took an oath of office, and was pinned by their homeroom teacher. After being introduced to the assembly with warm rounds of applause, the officers led the representatives and Color Guard to the lunchroom for a reception with their families.
