At Oakwood, we use technology tools specifically designed to enhance our students’ learning. SMART Boards encourage regular interaction in the classroom, iPads create mobile workspaces for small group and independent learning, and our 1:1 laptop program at the middle-school level prepares students for their upcoming transition to high school.

Digital citizenship
- Oakwood School believes that students need to be safe, respectful and responsible online. We use curriculum from Common Sense Media, NetSmartzKids, and other sources to teach at all levels.
- We understand the role technology plays in the lives of students with learning disabilities. Technology is crucial to their success--as a learning tool, not just as an accommodation. We use technology to support learning at all levels of the curriculum.

- Students in all grades have technology classes that explore Google Workspace for Education Apps, coding, 3D design, and printing along with other online programs.

- Building muscle memory frees up cognitive energy and helps maintain focus!
- Students use a variety of typing programs & resources including Read, Write, and Type; Diana King Touch Typing Program, and Typing Agent.
